As a kind of popular endocrine diseases, thyroid diseases do serious harm to human health. Thyroid mass is a basic factor affecting the iodine-131 dose in the hyperthyroid therapy. Therefore, it is clinically valuable to determine the thyroid mass correctly.The study aims to realize the determination of thyroid mass by tomography imaging and SPECT programming, and to discuss the validity and accuracy of this method.The procedure of realization is firstly to process the images and compute the results by program, and then to determine the primary parameters for tomography collection and threshold values for image processing by experiments, and finally to prove the reliability by data analysis.As a result, having confirmed the optimal value of a series of affect factors, the author practically completed a software package to calculate the thyroid mass correctly. The results of calculation were further verified by several clinical tests on the hyperthyroid patients.Thus some conclusions were made: 1. It is really feasible to correctly determine the thyroid mass on SPECT by tomography imaging; 2. It is practicable to select or to limit the hardware/software parameters by experimental comparison. 3. The new software and its processing results are valid to clinical patients.This article not only introduced the background knowledge and current situation on the study, but also explained the principles related to tomography imaging. Most in detail, the thesis discussed three main bodies of the study: Aladdin programming, group tests and analytic verification. In the end, the author made a short summary and prospect.
