In this paper, some issues of the implementation of VRC (vector raster conversion) in hardware are mainly researched, including the implementation of single line, thick line, triangle and conic. Firstly, the mapping of high level programming language to hardware description language is described, some principles of the conversion of algorithm to state machine are also proposed; Secondly, the basic raster graphics algorithms for drawing 2D primitives are introduced, including self-adaptive algorithm of single line, edge coherence and scan-line algorithm of triangle, brush algorithm of thick line (and its improved method) and advanced algorithms of circle and ellipse; In addition, the current situation of the advanced algorithms is also involved. Then, the implementation of basic graphics in hardware is discussed in detail, the state machine flow charts are drawn in the paper, and the interfaces of hardware are defined, implementing frame too, and the accelerated algorithm of conic is proved; Finally, the VHDL programs are simulated, synthesized and implemented with the EDA tool.
