Research And Implementation Of Novel Multicast Routing System MSCR(Multicast Switching Core Router)

With the further inflation of group business such as IPTV, not only the internet's bandwidth is wasted greatly but also the performance of the internet's processing is reduced very much by the using of the unicast routing system. So, it needs a kind of novel routing system-multicast routing system.The key technologies on multicast routing systems such as switching, queuing, scheduling and multicast implementation are analyzed at first; Secondly two systematic schemes of multicast routing system are surveyed and an investigation to the interrelated chips is done and then the systematic scheme of MSCR (Multicast Switching Core Router) is achieved. Then the platform of MSCR is constructed and its function and construction are discussed. Finally, the procedure of multicast in MSCR is described step by step and a testing platform is put up to evaluate the multicast performance.The switching capacity of MSCR can expand from 640Gbps to 2Tbps seamlessly, support any heterogeneous ports, and accommodate two ways to implement the multicast. It is validated by testing results that MSCR can satisfy the demands of novel multicast routing system.
