| The sale and inventory business process of one company is analyzed in detail in this paper and the relation between businesses is discussed. Such as input subsystem and output subsystem and so on. The U/C matrix method is introduce and used to optimize this system, by building U/C matrix for this system, 6 function modules are decomposed which are business network module, operator management module, product and inventory modular, product store and taking-away module, sales business module and system maintenance module. The process for this project is discussed and defined which is carried out in the development of this project. The detailed flow chart is given for each module and the database tables are presented in detail to meet the software requirements. This paper has still discussed system data backup and recovery, programming technology and so on.The software of this project is designed based on C/S. The database system adopts Sybase V.11 database server, which runs on Sco Unix operating system. PowerBuilder is the software development tool in this project. Sybase OpenClient for Windows is the data communication software. The software of this system is windows application that runs on MS-Windows 98/2000/XP.This paper divides into 7 chapters: firstly, the introduction, the bask of management Information system is introduced; secondly,requirement analysis, The system business is presented; the third chapter defines system goals and development process; 4th chapter focuses on system logic design including U/C matrix introduction, system breaking down and database tables detailed design; 5th chapter, system process design, the main flow-charts of the important subsystems is described; 6th chapter, the system realization environment and brief system development platform presentation is given; the last chapter, program realization, which introduces the system programming process in detail.
