With requests of higher accessing speed to network by wire equipments and wireless equipments, the 3rd generation communication IMT-2000 was established by ITU, which can provide up to 2Mbps data service for wireless users.The chip rate of IMT-2000 communication system working at 2G frequency can reach 3.84Mcps, which causes the wireless channel characters, such as frequency selection fade, Doppler frequency shift and path loss, become more serious. Wireless communication technologies are applied to control these serious disadvantage factors. It is very important to know wireless channel characters well. Therefore some enterprises have developed software and equipments for wireless channel simulation. The equipments are always too expensive to buy, while the software is much cheaper. However, software has one fatal limitation that it can not do real-time simulation as well as the equipment can do.The thesis is based on resolving the trouble and contradiction just mentioned. The main research of this article is listed below: (1) First, it analyses the characters of the mobile wireless channel, and studies some common wireless channel model methods. Then, the "IMT-2000 channel hardware real-time emulator" is set up, which is in accord with the IMT-2000, including multi-fingers delay, Rayleigh fade, Doppler effect and path loss. (2) The thesis designs a kind of new hardware implementation method and the circuit structure of AWGN generator. (3) The thesis analyses all modules of the "IMT-2000 channel hardware real-time emulator", reveals the excellent outcome of its performance simulation, and proves its practicability. (4) The thesis also designs the FPGA logic circuit of the emulator in detail, and provides the sub-module's particular explain based on the theory previously brought out. (5) It also gives some explain of FPGA development environment and its synthesis outcome using Synplify Pro.
