The Research Of Information Retrieval In A Distributed System

Information explosion across the Internet and elsewhere offers access to an increasing number of document collections. In order for users to effectively access these collections, information retrieval (IR) systems must provide coordinated , concurrent, and distributed access. In this paper ,we develop a distributed Information Retrieval System based on network technology and information classify technology. Today, fast developed high-speed network system provide possibility for new applications in distribute information field , in other way , after information retrieval theories research during past decades the research about Information Retrieval can start at a high level. In this paper, to refine a prototype, we focus on abstracting information characteristic , classify the information characteristic, network tasks' management. we give "virtual archives" classify techniques and new vector description about information characteristic and similarity algorithms, we defined a new prototype of distributed information retrieval system (DIRS) in the paper and it is easy to realize it into a real system.
