With the development of information technology, Wireless Laser Communication has become a focus of research attention due to its special predominance. Especially, Wireless Atmosphere Laser Communication (WALC), more closer to our daily life, has been attached much importance all over the world in the recent. The chapter I of this thesis summarizes the development history of laser communication, then introduces the WALC characters and applications, and finally makes a brief introduction on the WALC development status. In chapter II, the principle and the structure of WALC system are depicted, in addition, a detailed presentation on the key parts of the system is made. In chapter III, based on the special channel character of WALC, all kinds factors (laser terminal factors and atmosphere factors) affecting the communication channel are analyzed and the connections between the channel loss and the corresponding affection factors are discussed. At last, the channel model is given. In chapter IV, a WALC system built by us is presented ,which works with an emitting power of 50mw,a laser wavelength of 1550nm,and a communication speed of 155Mbit/s. In chapter V, the WALC technology and LMDS technology (Local Multi-Distribution Service) are compared according to the competition situation in the wireless access market.
