With the improvement of the inertial instruments, the effect of gravity abnormity to the precision of the inertial navigation system is more and more important. Measuring the local acceleration of gravity using a sea-gravimeter and revising the reference gravitation field model is an important approach to improve the precision of inertial navigation system. Quartz vibrating-beam sensors are a new class of sensor developed in recent years. With the development of digital technique, the performance of Quartz vibrating-beam sensors will be improved and they will get wide application. A project that Quartz vibrating-beam gravity sensors with digital output are used to measure acceleration of gravity is advanced. Based on the operation principles of Quartz vibrating-beam sensors, a project of the Quartz vibrating-beam gravity sensor has been advanced, and the mathematical model has been derived. Meanwhile, based on the piezoelectricity effect and optimal design, a good-performance mechanical structure of the Quartz vibrating-beam gravity sensor has been designed. In view of the mechanical structure, a series of simulation has been done by adopting the computer simulation technique, and applied cases have been pointed out. Finally, We analyze the vital errors which have much bad influence on Quartz vibrating-beam gravity sensors performance. Structural design and performance analyse of Quartz vibrating-beam gravity sensors are the important part of the meter project and has an important influence on the later development of the sea-gravimeter.
