With the wide applications of Internet, the security of computer network is recently paid more and more attentions. For example, if you intend to apply Internet to politics, economy and so no, which need a great security against vicious men/women, you have to first investigate the network's ability to secure you. So the degree of network secure is one of the main decisive factors that leads to the applications and development of Internet. As one of methods to increase network security, the firewall has acted as an important role in the Internet world since it was successfully developed, but certain trained people are necessary to manage firewalls, so it's a very difficult work. This is an obvious problem users are facing. And good management and maintains assure secure and effective work of firewall. This thesis introduced the development of firewall technology, some firewall technologies in common use, the development trend and architecture of secure management platform at first. Then, basis methods and steps to build the secure management platform as network cell based on the concept are described. The secure management platform as network cell mainly manage and maintain the intranet and firewall. This platform followed SNMP standard protocol to manage firewall, which makes firewall become a management object based on the platform. It is not only make management and maintain easy, but also improve whole network secure management and security of system, and help to expand integrated management of other security productions or devices, eliminate inconvenience that firewall management system apart from SNMP platform.
