Ultra WideBand(UWB) High Power Microwave(HPM) has a wide and potential application in communication, radar, electronic countermeasures, target recognition etc. This article is related to the experimental researching about Ultra WideBand antenna and the target response . The main substance consists of below several respects :1. The introduction about the technical research present situation to UWB HPM .2. It introduces the bandwidth parameter in the time domain , give out the definition to Ultra WideBand .Briefly introduces kinds of traditional wideband antenna , Such as dipole antenna , equiangular spiral antenna, logarithm periodic antenna,tapered slot antenna,biconical antenna; Employ conformal transformation to carry on the rule derivation for the double-ridged horn antenna which usually be used in antenna test condition, moreover indicate its dimensions and measure it. Fundamental form and some kinds of deformations about TEM horn antenna which often be used in the time domain have been summarized, some kinds of its difference feed means have been introduced .3.The most prevalent to at present one kind of electromagnetic field computational method 桾ime domain finite difference (FDTD) .The means has been carried on the rule introduction. Chiefly consist of the fundamental equation of Yee standard and FDTD .Numeric value stability and some kinds of absorb boundary condition .4.Begin with through the transmission line theory , Analyze and compare three kinds of gradual changed impedance transmissions line : Index number mould ^ chebyshev mould - hccken mould. Employing FDTD method to calculate the twin strip line characteristic impedance, comparing the result against the microstrip line characteristic impedance . Finally manufacture one pair of ridged TEM antenna , measure the antenna radiation patterns of E-plane and H-plane .5.Inpulse scattering from scale model targets are performed in a shielded anechoic chamber. The measurement was performed with a sampling oscilloscope, a pulse generator, and two TEM horn antennas. Restore the impulse response of the object under test with the deconvolution algorithm.
