Infranet (infrastructure network) is a specific computer network whose purpose is to bring the movement of object or energy. Presently, Infranet has mainly adoptedtwo kind of technology--field bus and industrial Ethernet. However, the standardof field bus is various and not compatible, and industrial Ethernet is not still ideal. As a result, Infranet has to make use of them synthetically. In a mixed Infranet, embedded HTTP server is the vital equipment, which achieves the switch between HTTP/TCP/IP and special field protocols. At the same time, embedded HTTP server enables the monitor and management of equipment via Internet.Embedded HTTP server is different from traditional embedded system. Embedded HTTP server lies on the middle of the field layer and monitor layer, and has little relationship with the applications of the field layer, so embedded HTTP server can be applied all kind of Infranet and embedded applications in theory. Obviously , embedded HTTP server has generality compared with traditional embedded system.By reason of the significance and character of embedded HTTP server, designing a general embedded HTTP server has good social and research value. The article puts forward a new idea about the design of embedded HTTP server, based on generality. transplantibilty, and expansibility. The main tasks undertaken in the papers are as follows:1 The article has worked over the relationship of embedded HTTP server and embedded operating system, and Linux/RT-Linux.2 The article has simplified standard HTP/1.1, and got an embedded version of HTTP/1.1.3 In order to achieve generality, and expansibility, embedded HTTP server has been designed into a layered and object-oriented code structure.4 The article has made some research in multiple threads, and the principle of Linux/RT-Linux threads.
