The cold frame bend-forming is one important step of the process of the ship sections in shipbuilding. The progress and quality of the cold frame bend-forming will influence ship's building period and delivery directly. With the development of the shipbuilding technology and the requirement of the actual shipbuilding production, higher requirement was brought up for the frame processing technology and the frame processing equipments.Frame cold-bending machine is one of the important equipment for processing shaped section bars, processing automation is its development tendency. The process of the ship frame is relative complex process of treatment, and there are some deficiencies in the process of the generalization and the utilization. Accordingly, the study of the frame cold-bending machine with mechanical hands controlled by programmable controller has actual significance. Having studied the current control methods of frame cold-bending machine in which there were in the national and overseas ship field, and computer control technology. In this paper, studies are made which programmable controller was used to control frame bender with mechanical hands. This paper consists of eight chapters.In chapter l,the aim and the significence of the study are proposed. The situation and development of hull sections processing and programmable controller are introduced. At last, the main content of this paper is proposed.In chapter 2,the composition, major technical features and performance parameters of the frame cold-bending machine with mechanical hands are introduced briefly. These contents are fundamental which research the PLC control system of the frame bender with mechanical hands.In chapter 3,the hardware, software and fundamental of the programmable controller are introdceed concisely. The above-mentioned basic theories are the foundation which design the control system of the frame bender with mechanical hands by programmable controller.In chapter 4,many researchs and designs about the PLC control system of theframe cold-bending machine with mechanical hands are introduced in detail, include of the total project and requirement of the control system hardware, the select of the programmable controller, the researchs and designs of the PLC control system hardwares of the frame cold-bending machine with mechanical hands and so forth.In chapter 5,two methods about design PLC sequence controller are introduced, and then the total plan which develop the PLC control program of the frame cold-bending machine with mechanical hands are stated. At last, the practical program of the frame bender with mechanical hands is included as an enclosure in this paper.In chapter 6,the reliability is the premise which control system can run steadily. The anti-interference system of the frame cold-bending machine with mechanical hands is designed from the aspects of power supply, earthing system and so on.In chapter 7,the tests and applications of the PLC control system of the frame cold-bending machine with mechanical hands are introduced briefly.In chapter 8,a summarization of the paper is made and the further research works are proposed.
