Application And Study Of The Technology Of Image Retrieval

With the development of the technology in the field of computer and multimedia recently, image data comes forth, the technology of image retrieval becomes one of the object that everyone wants to study.The key technologies and the trends in image retrieval are introduced firstly, and then, the emphasis of the paper, the methods of improving effects is introduced. The paper mostly studies the methods and extracting from the image data. Ontology, Rough Set is adopted, and the method of retrieving image by combining ontology theories with rough set theories is adopted with the two theories researched.Reduct in rough set is used to retrieve image. The key features can be extracted from all the features with the unimportant features deleted. With this method, the result of image retrieval is more correct.Specific knowledge can be acquired by Ontology, since the users involved are lack of the knowledge about what they want to retrieve. This method can make image retrieveefficiently.It is proved by study that retrieving image with combining ontology theories and rough set theories can overcome the shortcomings of traditional retrieval methods. It can retrieve image more correctly and more efficiently.
