Node(router, switch etc.) function in traditional network is essentially to retransmit the data packets, and it only processes the head of the packet but not be able to compute or change the data itself, so it can't meet demands of society more and more already. Active Network is one kind of open network systems, and it attempts to overcome the limitations of the traditional network fundamentally. It is looking for the brand-new technological scheme for the network of future generation. In Active Network, the network node can run the custom-made network program which can modify or the expansion network foundation structure. Therefore, Active Network has a better flexibility, and it can meet the demands of fast application of the new technology in the modern society. However, its security problem and efficiency problem have become key problems of restricting its application and development.The dissertation launches research to the security, flexibility and efficiency in Active Network, What do works and includes mainly : 1. Active Network prototype system based on Component Demanding Loading(CDL) is proposed. The system has fully reflected the flexibility of the Active Network, and it has better security and higher efficiency at the same time. 2.Component model based on Active Network has been designed. Components can be registered, uploaded and managed by Code Server. Also, they can be downloaded to the active node needed. 3. Demanding Loading Protocol (DLP) has been designed. DLP adopts many kinds of network security technology, such as digital signature, encryption, authentication and so on, and it has guaranteed that the component downloading process is secure, not distorted and cannot deny; 4. The method of the mix of programmable switch and the capsule method has been designed. The active code only loads the identifiers and parameters of the components, and components itself can be got through DLP.Finally, the dissertation elaborated the system concrete realization under ANTS environment on the linux platform.
