Improvement Of LDAP Security Mechanism And Its Application

With the development of Internet, The LDAP has play an important role in network applications, but there are many defects and faults on the original LDAP Security mechanisms which don't satisfy the requirements of the LDAP implementation. The thesis discusses the LDAP Security mechanisms and it's applications.The thesis first discusses the LDAP directory protocol. Next, the thesis discusses the LDAP security mechanisms and it's problems. There are three main problem: 1) password policy, 2)access authorization, 3)all kinds of authentication mechanism.Next, the thesis discusses the solutions to above problem. In particular, we have presented the Digest authentication mechanism on the basis of Public Key. It has combined Public Key technologies with Digest technologies, so it may solve the problem of other authentication mechanisms, prevent from all kinds of attacks and implement integrity and confidentiality protection to data between client and server.Lastly, we improved the application based on LDAP, integrated the database and it's applications into it, and proved Access Control based on MAC address.The thesis makes an available attempt to improve LDAP Security mechanisms and it's application.
