Ultra-fast short pulse source is important for both physics research and optical communication network.Actively-passively harmonic mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser technique is an important way that generates the short pulse source. The thesis investigates the rational harmonic mode-locked technique in fiber lasers theoretically experimentally. At first, we introduce the basic theory of lasers, and introduce the mode- locked pulse lasers and fiber lasers. And we put emphasis on investigation of the actively-passively rational harmonic mode-locked Erbium-doped fiber laser on correlative experimentation. We found that not only the steady harmonic mode-locked pulse phenomenon but also rational harmonic mode-locked pulse phenomenon took place on pulse experiment of Fig.-8 passively mode-locked fiber laser, the amplitude-distribution of the pulse train possess the characteristic of rational harmonic mode-locked pulse train. We report lor the first time to our best knowledge, the arbitrary numerator rational harmonic mode-locked phenomenon in a ring fiber laser firstly, and we report and analyze the arbitrary numerator rational harmonic mode-locked phenomenon in detail in actively mode-locked fiber laser experimentation. We bring forward a idea of the arbitrary numerator rational harmonic mode-locked pulse, and we probe into the phenomenon by experimentation. We found the arbitrary numerator rational harmonic mode-locked phenomenon by experimentation,we broke through a localization of the numerator nothing but equal to one on conventional rational harmonic mode-locked,and we obtain the 22nd order rational harmonic mode-locked pulse.
