With the development of communication, Wireless Local Area Network plays a more important role in communication technology and develops sharply under the base of great commercial benefit. Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) based on IEEE802.11 is a new and booming branch in data communication, which has a promising future. For the future, the price value of the WLAN may surpass the public network and thus constitutes the most essential part of the global network. Ultra-Wide band (UWB) pulse communication is a very different communication technique from others. It has characteristics of high system capacity, low power spectral densities, exceptional multi-path immunity, simple structure and low probability of detection. Ultra-wide band technology is a hot topic in the research field of wireless mobile communication during the last year. However, in order to construct an effective UWB communication system, there is still much work to do. In this paper on the basis of analyses about wireless channel characteristic, we have done a wide research into new technologies and some information transmission scenarios in WLAN, including a detailed discussion of the most competitive DS-CDMA and OFDM-CDMA technique. Then, this dissertation analyses the basic UWB waveform and compares two different data modulation schemes which adopting time-hopping modulation. During the analysis, simulation with MATLAB is done.
