Wireless Sensor network (WSN) which is a convergence of sensor, nested computation, networks and wireless communication technologies, is a novel technology on acquiring and processing information, is a late-model wireless network of footless establishment and can be used for real-time testing, sensing, collecting and processing all kinds of information of circumstance or monitored objects, and then send these information to the required users. WSN is a new research area of computer science and technology scopes and has a wide application future. Both academia and industries are very interested in it.This paper deeply researched the UWB Wireless Sensor Network, designed the MAC (medium access control) protocol. Firstly, this paper put the TH-PPM-UWB system as the physical layer of UWB wireless sensor networks which based on the analysis of the WSN (wireless sensor network) topology structure, the feature of the MAC (medium access control) protocol and the UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology. It can fit for the MAC physical layer protocol basic requirements of the UWB WirelessSensor Network after the (UWB)~2 (Uncoordinated, Wireless, Baseborn) protocol was analyzed which is based on the TH-PPM-UWB system. The validity of the energy is the focus of the Wireless Sensor Network MAC (medium access control), so the (UWB)~2 protocol was improved according to the validity of the energy, and a kind of new suiting in the (UWB)~2 protocol foundation in the UWB wireless sensor network wasdesigned in this paper. Namely, (UWB)~2 and CSMA/CA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance ) are combined to from a new set of MAC protocol. In order to avoid the collision question of CSMA, we proposed method when the data frame has the conflict, the data frame transmits successfully and the delaying stateprocessing. The simulation experiment indicated CSMA/CA and (UWB)~2 combined MAC protocol which proposed in this paper may apply to the UWB wireless sensor network well.
