Research And Implement Of Workflow Interoperability Crossing Organizations

There is a large demand of workflow interoperation crossing organization to support new generation business integration, along with the rapid development of Internet and more and more frequency of crossing organization business, because the traditional workflow technology does not support workflow interoperation effectively and limits on application integration in one organization.Although there are some way and model to realize the workflow interoperation between two organizations, these model and products are some common defects.In order to resolve the defects of traditional workflow interoperation and realize more flexible workflow interoperation, this article describes a new workflow interoperating model. In the new model, workflow management system uses Web Service as basic inter-operation module. In addition, the model uses a special interoperating agent to separate the interoperating logic from internal business workflow process, that means the internal business workflow process only focus on the business logic of the organization, not consider the interoperating relationship outside. The interoperating Agents manage the interoperating relationship. Through Web Service's standard describing, publishing, finding ,binding and integrating ability, the interoperating partners realize workflow interoperation.Comparing with other workflow interoperational models(for example WFMC interface 4), we can find out that the new model uses the Web Service as basic interoperational unit. It accords with the Web Service oriented software development method becuase the bourn of the systems is very clear and one system doesn't depend on the other. Because the Web Service uses the standard specifications and realizes the isomerous platform-crossing feature, the different partners can realize workflow interoperation. Because the workflow specifications of WFMC and five interfaces of WFMC have already been the industry standard in deed, the new model in this paper uses the interface 3 of WFMC to communicate with the data from the Web Service, then realize the crossing organizations workflow interoperation finally. So the new workflow interoperational model is very common, and can be applied in a wide range, that is to say, any workflow products can use the new model, only it conforms to the WFMC specifications.
