HTiB(Home Theater in a Box) is a newly home consumer electronics which effectively integrates the MPEG Coding/Decoding, the multi-channel audio Coding/Decoding, the audio transaction DSP, Amplifier, Speaker, the single AM/FM chip and the audio DAC into one single unit, comprising one DVD player as its basic.HTiB's target board is a suit of typical embedded develop system, and comprises all of the embedded develop characteristic, including cross-compiling, On-Chip Debugging and Object Code download. One of the most important tasks during its development is to implement and customize the Human-Computer Interaction Subsystem based on the HW/SW of the HTiB target board with its native serial bus,through cross-compiling environment. This subsystem includes Infra-Red Control, Vacuum Fluorescent Displays, Graphical User Interfaces Engine and its Setup Menu, etc.Adopting Layered-Mechanism to implement the Human-Computer Interaction Subsystem is one of the most effective approach. From the point fo Input of the whole Human-Computer Interaction Subsystem, it comprises the mechanical keys on Front Panel and the Infra-Red keys, while its Output consists of VFD, OSD and Setup Menu.To implement and customize the Infra-Red Control is one of the most important modules during the whole HTiB project.From the point of view of the Layered-Mechanism to customize the Infra-Red keys and implement its function is the outstanding feature of Infra-Red module, with respect to different disk types and different Infra-Red keys. The Vacuum Fluorescent Displays, VFD is the absolutely necessary device to HTiB products. During the develop process, Must implement and customize the bottom layer routine and higher level API adopting Layered-Mechanism with respect to the specific VFD device the front panel supported, so as to provide friendly system message interface, such as disc playing time, track list etc.The importance of HTiB's GUI Engine and its Setup Menu rests with that has great influence on the final customer. With the assist of native GUI Engine in the system firmware, to implement and customize the Setup Menu is one of the most valuable develop tasks from the point of view of the menu infrastructure and the menu management, especially when it comes to the walkaround stereo controlling sub-menu.This Human-Computer Interaction Subsystem has waltzed through the comprehensive testing of the manufactory and the whole HTiB product has successfully launched into the marketplace also.
