According to the construction of institute subject demands, and also for the sake of conforming to the fast-developing digital earth's study, we are now doing some researches on Visualization and Algorithm of 3D Earth Model which were involved in Computer-Graphics and Calculate-Geometry and Scene-Simulation, and etc. These technologies have been broadly applied in the domain of land layout, irrigation works.This paper briefly introduces the background and status of researches, reviews the theoretical basis of Scene-Simulation technique. At the same time, it puts up some summing-up about the way of developing OpenGL under VC++6.0 environment, texture mapped and management of scene data by combining the practical project. It also stresses study on real time scheduling based on the image. The data of image on the earth's surface is very large. By carrying through forecast in advance and taking actions in management of memory and multithreading, the scheduling algorithm can fully use current resources of a computer and reasonably schedule virtual object to meet smooth and un-delayed walkthrough. These aspects are relatively independence as well as tie up.Finally, this paper analyzes implement process of the Visualization system of 3D earth. From the fundamental to established three-dimensions model's, this paper which synthetically applies OpenGL technology and kinds of means about real time Visualization, implements earth's model with living 3D visual effect and capacity of real time cruise. As a whole, Study on Visualization and Algorithm of 3D Earth Model is still on the stage of theoretic prototype design and technical testing. It is on its way of continuous self-optimization and developing. Though the work has been done in this paper, advanced researches are needed to be done to complete the basic theory of Digital Earth, and to find the way to build Digital China.
