Nowadays Internet is growing quickly, and network computing is becoming the most important mode for resource integration and collaboration. In this occasion, traditional mode to access database for utilizing data resources has not met the new demands felicitously. According to Internet and J2EE technologies, the paper brings forward a new data access mode-Thin-Client Data Access Mode (TCDAM) based on network. TCDAM is a solution that the multi-tier architecture on TCP/IP network applies to database domain. TCDAM studied in the paper is a data access mode to access remote database, based on Internet, and brought forward under network computing background. It implements independent from network environment, OS environment, and database platform. Data service is its purpose, and middle-ware server is its center.TCDAM may imply to Intranet to integrate data resources of the enterprise, provide a uniform data access platform through building a virtual data center. TCDAM may imply to Internet to integrate public data resources into data grid for providing universal data services.
