Passive radar is a special form of Bistatic(Multistatic) Radar. It is playing a more and more important role in the radar field because of its perfect characteristics of anti-jamming, anti-ARM and anti-stealth ability. This kind of radar system obviously has the potential superiority and prospect in the future Electronic War.This paper discusses some of the key techniques of passive radar based on FM-broadcast signals. First it discusses the sub-sampling problem of narrow-band signals in order to sample narrow-band signals without losses at a low rate. Then it discusses the problem of restraint of direct-arrival waves. It introduces two means to suppress direct-arrival wave interferences, one is capon beam-forming apparatus, the other is elimination by two-element-array. The simulation result shows that the power of direct-arrival waves can be suppressed about 120 dB by means of capon beam-forming apparatus and at least 64 dB by means of elimination by two-element-array. In the end it shows the theory and means of measuring length and speed of this passive radar system.
