| As a force contributing to social and economic development, open and distance learning is fast becoming and accepted and indispensable part of the mainstream of educational systems in both developed and developing countries, with particular emphasis for the latter. This growth has been stimulated in part by the interest among educators and trainers in the use of new, Internet-based and multimedia technologies, and also by the recognition that traditional ways of organizing education need to be reinforced by innovative methods.The distant education is the result of technologies used in the industrial society. The applying of steam engine and railways has tremendously broadened our human's activity geographical space. In order to encourage the immigrant students continue to study, tutorials were mailed (books and teaching materials) to the students through post department. Thus the early distant education of correspondence came into being. It brings about a new form of distant education in which the new technologies can be used in the field of educative media and transmission. The distant education is diversity both in the teaching media and technologic environment, which makes itself be highly valued in scientific research. The importance of studying and market potential has become more pronounced with the appearing of economic knowledge society. A large quantities of enterprise have attracted into distant educational researching, which produced a span development and prosperity in it.The disparity of trainer's individuality characteristic contradicts with the singularity of traditional distant education, while the latter couldn't deal with the contradict at all. To enhance the information of educational resources and to meet users' demand, the author put forth a concept of distant educational mode, providing users individual environment of distant learning, which will become a new one for modern distant education. The author describes the principles and structure ofindividual distant education mode, noting detailed ideas and scheme, realizing in part the mode of individual distant learning. |
