Many mathematics models of control objects in actual system always change with time and the changeable environment and the rules of these changes are ascertained difficultly in advance. If these changes are confined to a smaller range, we can eliminate their bad influences on the control performance by means of the traditional methods such as feedback control, optimal control and so on. However, if they are within a wide range, we can not deal with the issue completely by the above methods. Whereas, with the rapid development of science & technology, the scale of production becomes larger and larger, the demand for control quality becomes higher and higher. Under this situation, how to design a kind of control system, which can adapt to all kinds of changes by means of modifying its control parameters constantly to achieve a satisfying control effect. It is the appearance of the adaptive control that open up a new road for settling these problems. These days, research of adaptive control draws the extensive attention of control field.The development and the application of cored-wire infection technology & adaptive control technology are briefly introduced, in this paper, and design for model reference adaptive control system via Lyapunov Stability Theory & Popov Hyperstability Theory are mainly discussed. Based on the existed research, it indicates the factors that affect the convergence of the system. Moreover, several superficial opinions, which can improve the convergence in order to obtain the prefect transient process, are put forward. Then,it simply discusses some methods which can improve the anti-interference of the system. Finally,it applies the above result to the wire feeder control, which is widely used in the fields of metallurgy and foundry industry. The adaptive controller, which the parameters of control object can vary in a considerable range, is designed. The simulation result verifies that this method can attain a perfect control effect.
