Power transformer is a very important equipment in power system. It will affect directly the whole power system whether power transformer runs safely. The traditional protection and monitoring system of power transformer is usually scattered single-chip module structure, this structure leads to the calculation speed slowly and makes it difficult that the structure will content with the high requirement of speedy and real time. The paper aims for these problems and incorporates with a real project to research and develop a protection and monitoring system of power transformer based on DSP.Firstly, the author discusses the situation and problems of protection and monitoring system of power transformer at present, especially assays and studies the shorts of hardware and development environment, then concludes that selecting DSP as the microprocessor has important meaning. Secondly, he author makes detailed study on the main aspecs of protection principle of power transformer (including identifying magnetizing inrush current, percentage restraint differential protection, zero sequence protection etc.), this provides theory basis for the protection transformer of this paper. Because the power system expound for the reliability of protection transformer more and more requirements, the author exerts successfully several intelligent fault-tolerant control modes to the protection transformer on the basis of researching these modes (including hardware intelligent fault-tolerant control, software intelligent fault-tolerant control, time intelligent fault-tolerant control, information intelligent fault-tolerant control etc.), then the author presented a project constructing protection of power transformer on the basis of synthetic redundancy method and proved the advantage of this project for improving the system reliability through assaying theory. Finally, the author designed a new type of protection and monitoring system of power transformer based on DSP successfully by theory integrating specific task. The system has four pieces of DSP56F807 chip produced by Motorola Company. They finish respectively differential protection, the backup protection and measurement for high voltage side, the backup protection and measurement for low voltage side and remote control. The communication mode between the protection device for transformer and its monitoring system is based on Lonworks BUS and this mode realized the high reliability, security and remanipulation of data transmit.The protection device was experimented by simulated method and the resulttestified that the device has high reliability, high correct action probability, high measurement precision, easy to maintain and debug, high anti-interference ability etc. This also...
