Spatial data model and datastructure are the key factor for developing and renovating RS and GISo Geospatial Data Abstraction library (GDAL) is a abstract translator library for raster and vector geospatial data formats, which is used in many international famous projections and released under an Open Source license Based on the conceptual, logistic and object-structural levels, this paper went deep into studying in the abstract mechanism and the implementation methods that applied to developing and extending the SARINFORS software.Based on the study in the GDAL Raster Model's theories and methods, this thesis used the interface functions provided by the Model to develop some applications for RS image basical processing such as layerstacking subseting rescaling and algebra oprating, and for SAR image generic processing like the speckle filtering,in SARINFORS These modules are not only able to run stably, but also to improve the efficiency of processing. After plugged the HDF5 library into GDAL,my this study had optimized and extended the GDAL Model. Appling the methods provided by GDAL and HDF5,we define the software's internal raster file format. This file can be accessed speedly,be managed, operated, imported and exported suconveniently as other raster file formats supported by GDAL. The feature of this hierarchical format ensure that we can extend the format's structure easely .Based on the study in the GDAL Vector Model's theories and methods,we develop the module for importing and exporting between our system's AOI vector format and ESRI's SHAPE file format. So we can keep our AOI vector data be all-purpose.
