Steel tube is widely used as a sort of metallic material in industry and has also contributed much to the national economic development. In this paper, on the basis of the current situation of research on steel tube's measure, weight, pinstamp, band, stencil system both here and abroad, with the aim of researching and developing the MWBPS system for 2nd product line in Tianjin Pipe Corporation, the successful design of the relevant control system and procedure are presented. The main contents are shown as follows:In chapter 1, technological process of steel tube and the international standard API are introduced. Then the current situation of research and problems on MWBPS system in China are described. And also, the necessities of the improvement of MWBPS system are explained. Finally, the source of this project and the main contents as well as the significance of this paper are mentioned.In chapter 2, the design requirements of this system are presented. Then, according to the system's integral structure, the author depicted the design of relevant subsystems such as measure weighs pinstamp, band, stencil ,step system and etc, including the components, working process of the system and the precautions when designing. Finally, The whole design of the control system and software are also presented.In chapter 3, the design of the control system, especially the hardware design of PLC system is discussed. The correlation techniques about servo system are also introduced. Then, the design and the modeling & simulation of stencil system based on servo control system are expatiated. Moreover, flow error and stability of the system are analyzed. Finally, the characters of the control system are presented.In chapter 4, PLC program method and the characters of S7400 series are introduced in brief. The expressions of PLC by IDEFO are also put forward. Attention are mainly focused on the modular design of PLC program, flow figure of each subsystem, the assignment of the program function block, the communication principle between PLC and up-lever computer and the timing sequence diagram. The test strategy of the PLC program is also put forward.In chapter 5, IDEFO modeling is used to analyzing the control program of up-lever computer. Furthermore, the design of the function module block of the monitoring control system of up-lever computer is introduced. Then, the design of the main control interface is performed based on the analysis by IDEFO. Subsequently, the communication project of up-lever computer is designed. Finally, the testingstrategy of the software and the characters of the monitoring control system are put forward.In chapter 6, the work and accomplishment in the reconstruction of MWBPS control system and software are summarized, and moreover, ways to improve this system are pointed out.
