It is a kind of esteem to human to realize personalized instruction. Everybody is special. Ignoring the difference of people and disregarding the particularity of students not only disaccord with ethics, but also contravene the aims of education. The distance instruction system based on modern sciences and technologies offered the realization of personalized instruction the conditions. And how to construct an effective student model is a key problem for such systems and thus it becomes my paper's focus research content. The dual principle unveils the oneness and the symmetry of AI systems to which personalized instruction systems belong and provides the foundation for constructing student model, so it is one of the emphases of the paper. And based on this principle, the problem of constructing student model boils down to the analysis of the records of student's behavior. The teaching specialist are good at it, so it is helpful to analyze the process of specialist's problem solving in this aspect and this becomes another central research content of this paper. Some properties of the knowledge of teaching specialist were found through analyzing the process of instructor's acquirement about student's personalities such as fuzziness, subjectivity, short-range, typification and nonlinearity. And along with this, an experiential knowledge representation based on Gaussian model was put forward. Thus the problem of using instructor's experiential knowledge to construct student model was transformed to another one that how to realize the Gaussian model. And finally we overcome the difficulty at some degree.
