The thesis has mostly designed and accomplished the primary study of Decision Support System (DSS) for faculty management based on campus Office Automation (OA).The faculty is core resource of university. It is an important task to how to effective forecasting and rational programming for the faculty. With the development of computers in China, the faculty management is tending towards informatization and scientific. The study of the thesis has significance for improving the faculty management and university's benefit. Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) funds the study, which is an important project of digital campus of CDUT for the information development.The thesis starts with presenting background and main content of the study, and analyzes the characteristic and technology of OA in college. The author brings forward to set up DSS for faculty management based on OA, which is based on discussing the function design of OA of CDUT. And then the thesis emphasizes accomplishment DSS for faculty management which comprises the design and analysis of the software, the math method of modeling, the design of model and database and knowledge library by analyzing the development environment, choosing tools and designing network.The main achievements of this thesis are as follows:(1) Set up a faculty management DSS based on OA and makes overall program, which resolves the semi-structured and unstructured problems about faculty management.(2) All the process of the software development is supervised by software engineering theory. It embodies the principle of systematizing, engineering, standardization form feasibility, requirement analysis to coding, soft testing and system issuance. It is the base of upgrading and maintenance of the software.(3) Set up several models about gross and structured forecasting of faculty based on gray system, operational research, and stochastic processes. Validity, precision and rationality of these models have been validated and estimated by data from CDUT.(4) Adopt B/S pattern to satisfy Mobile Office at anytime and anywhere. This pattern does not restrict the number of clients and ensures the safety of data.(5) Accomplish the choice from models and combination.(6) Analyze the faculty information and show them with graphics and charts.
