At present, the application of Internet is widely developing, a Erosion-detecting equipment of petroleum pipeline with network connection is designed, which can transmit data by Internet and cut down cost and overcome the incompatibility with RS232, RS485 and CAN buses. In order to make the embedded equipment connect with Internet, the communication protocols should be realized in MCU. However, the dominant protocol is TCP/IP, which is a various protocol variety. It is impossible for MCU to realize all the protocols and the key of this paper is how to simplify TCP/IP protocol that can operate in MCU. After analyzing the standard TCP/IP and real requirement, I simplify this protocol and only ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP and TCP protocols can run in MCU. About application, this device offers two feasible blue prints: one is using UDP protocol and remote PC can communication with MCU by using Socket program in Windows; other is WEB SERVER embedded in MCU and PC can only use IE BROWSER to visit and control MCU conveniently.Test show that these simplified protocols can run stably in MCU. It not only can communicate in the local area network, but also can communicate with terminal of the wide area network by gateway. Accompanying the network technology development greatly, the application of the embedded device connecting with Internet will present a broad prospect.
