Research on and development of Speech Recognition technology have driven the development of a great many industries, which hence makes it more natural, convenient, and flexible for human beings to communicate with machines. Research on and development of voice control system used in laser-scan have created a new field for the application of Speech Recognition. This article, on the basis of a brief introduction to the status in quo as well as application prospect of Speech Recognition, mainly studies the key technology that influences Speech Recognition, namely terminal inspection, and analyzes and compares the terminal inspection technology based on energy and over zero rate as well as the terminal inspection technology based on HMM model, including the distilling technology of characteristic vector. In addition, this article, in order to meet different requirements for the system, studies speaker adaptation technology, so that the system could reach higher rate of recognition correctness even under the circumstances of usage by unspecific personnel. Research on and development of voice control system used in laser-scan aims at scanning the characters, which can be distinguished by voice, by laser in the end, that is to say, scanning the English alphabets that are recognized. Consequently, while users input English alphabets via microphone, computers may distinguish the contents inputted via voices, and transports the alphabetic ASC code that is recognized by programming to single chip computer via crossing line exit. The single chip computer, after receiving instructions, makes use of software to drive stepping motor, spurs on the carrier plane mirror, and hence takes advantage of laser machine to scan corresponding alphabets.Speech Recognition technology, SDK software development tools, single chip computer, and stepping motor offer supports to research on and development of voice control and laser scan system in terms of hardware and software.Design of hardware and software of the system tries to seek optimum solutions, and registers satisfactory results. The largest feature of the system is to combine sound, light, machines, and electricity organically. It is simple in structure, convenient in operation, as well as economical and practical. In quieter circumstances, the rate of recognition correctness can be higher, and the scanned English alphabets are clear in figure, and fluent in line. It will create a wider space for application of the Speech Recognition system to further develop and optimize the subject.
