Research & Implementation Of Network Management System Of InPCM Based On SNMP

As the scale and complexity of network increasing, network management plays a more important role in computer network system. Intelligent Pulse Code Modulation(InPCM), one of the new access device, is a promising hi-teach boasting of economization, and need network management to realize its intelligence. This dissertation researches and implements the network management system of InPCM. After analysis the network management system model and Simple Network Management Protocol, a network management system model of InPCM based on SNMP is proposed, which has "local network management system + SNMP Agent" pattern. The local network management system can monitor local components through RS-232 serial interface, and other SNMP network management system can manage device remotely through the MIB provided by SNMP agent. The system has implemented configuration, fault, performance and security management functions defined by OSI. Furthermore, a simple SNMP management system is designed to test, validate the system. In conclusion, the design object is completed with unique characteristic itself.
