Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has the ability of imaging and identification oftarget in all weather day and night. It exhibits very high resolution in two dimensionsby using pulse compression method and utilizing the Doppler information during itscoherent processing period. SAR plays an important role in the war, we must pay moreattention to the research of jamming to SAR. Based on the introduction to imaging principle of the SAR, some systemconsiderations for electronic countermeasures to SAR are discussed in this paper,Several simple jamming ways, the evaluation technique of the SAR image andjamming effectiveness are also discussed. The paper suggests to employ noisefrequency modulation jamming (NFMJ) against SAR. The required jamming powerwill be decreased if the modulation noise bandwidth is selected properly and thejamming samples are used repeatedly in every pulse repetition period. The jammingeffectiveness used the replica of receiving signal with tapped delay is discussed simply.
