Based on an overview of the principle of the QPSK-modulated transmission system in the remote sensing satellite, the importance and method of optimizing the system are studied in this thesis. This paper mainly researches on the performance loss due to carrier phase noise of the transmission system. To solve this question, a lot of studies are made, and also a computer simulation was carried out. First, a formula to evaluate the BER performance of the QPSK-modulated transmission system which is affect by Tikhonov and Gaussian distributed phase noise is educed. Then, an approximate result of the formula is obtained. Second, based on the actual system of the resource satellite, a computer simulation is carried out. At last, some advice of optimizing the transmission system is presented by comparing the results of the studies and simulations.
