In this thesis, we focus on the study of phase noise compensation techniques for OFDM-based wireless transmission, and discuss methods of detecting and suppressing Doppler shift, impulse noise and narrow-band interference.First we give a brief introduction to the development history, application, and basic characters of OFDM technique, and expatiate on the basic conception of phase noise. Then after a detailed analysis on the effect of phase noise on OFDM signals, which composed of two parts: CPE and ICI, we investigate three classes of techniques estimating and compensating phase noise from the viewpoints of utilizing pilots and cyclic prefix in OFDM symbols, inserting special pilots and corresponding guard intervals, and altering data modulation manner on subcarriers. A series of amendments are proposed accordingly. Besides, we also discuss algorithms detecting and suppressing impulse noise and narrow-band interference in OFDM systems, and how to combat Doppler shift in a mobile receiving environment. On the basis of theory analysis, we compare the effectivity and feasibility of these algorithms with the aid of Matlab. Finally, we implement phase noise compensation module in FPGA circuit.
