On the basis of analyzing the developing history and present status of soft-switching technique, DC-rail zero voltage transition soft-switching inverter circuit and resonant pole inverter circuit are selected as the study object in this paper. The operating principle and process of these two soft-switching inverter circuits are analyzed in detail, simultaneously, aiming at the problem and deficiency existing in DC-rail zero voltage transition soft-switching inverter circuit, deeply study is given and solving schemes are proposed.This paper analyzing the main circuits and their control methods theoretically, then the simulations are given with PSIM software and the correctness of control methods and parameters selection is verified, and completing the systemic design of whole system including main power circuits, rectifier circuits, control circuits, drive circuits and the necessary trouble protected circuits. Finally, the above-mentioned two soft-switching inverter prototypes are made and tested, and the experimental results show the feasibility of circuit topologies, the correctness of theoretical analysis, and the rationality of parameter design. And that, these two circuits can realize the aim of soft-switching, reduce the circuit losses and increase the system efficiency.
