This thesis present the solution to the interface problem between Network Management System (NMS) and Subscriber Administration System (SAM) based on CORBA technique. With the market's growth, there are more end more urgent requests on the scalability, capacity, interoperability and reusability for the server system, especially on the interface between the Network Management System (NMS) and Subscriber Administration System (SAM). The NMS in the telecommunication system must follow the rules of OSI system and object-oriented system architecture. Currently several solutions are adopted in the telecommunication NMS interface. They are SNMP protocol, API and some distribution techniques. While the CORBA-based solution is distinguishable in resolving the interface problem between NMS and SAM, because it has the following 3 characteristics:1 . It isolates the engineer from the Operation System and language dependencies and facilitates interoperability between management systems.2. The development of management systems can internally make substantial use of implementation of the currently defined CORBA Servers and CORBA Facilities.3. Its standardization work meets the NMS requirement in the telecommunication.Based the above characteristic of CORBA and interface requirements between NMS and SAM, a CORBA client is designed in the NMS and a CORBA server is in the SAM to isolate the database between these two systems. This solution on the interface between NMS and SAM demonstrates distinguished advantages in practice...
