Due to the operation of the circuit breakers and disconnected switches, the transient electromagnetic process along the buses in the EHV substation is a very serious disturbance source to the secondary devices. Supported by National Science Foundation of China under grant No. 50077006, and based on the method of FDTD of multi-conductor transmission lines, using Borland C++ Builder programming tools, a new software is developed for the computation of the transient electromagnetic process in EHV substation. Compared to the results computed by EMTP, the availability of the software developed in this paper is verified.
