With the development of computer technology, the scale and complexity of software system are raised because of the application requirement. Users hope that the software system becomes more expansible and easier to maintain, which makes design on software, especially on large software system, in difficulty. Faced with these circumstances, the whole frame design on software system is put on high importance. At the same time in order to overcome the disadvantage of C/S systems, people require more on sharing resources and distributed computing. Therefore, N-layered architecture based on B/S structure, distributed object technology and groupware technology are born, which support for developing expansible easy-maintainable and high-powered large application software system not only in theory but also in practice. Of them, distributed object technology makes every object in application system remain anywhere in the net by the shape of isolated physical entity and be visited remotely by other objects. Distributed object technology also supports for the reality of groupware's second use. Moreover, RMI of Java expresses the idea of distributed object technology, and inherits every virtue of Java. Therefore, it is the best choice of developing large distributed system. The progresses of theory and technology in MIS, especially in large distributed MIS system based on Web, provide more choices and make developing more flexible and convenient, however, they also increase the difficulty in analysis and design on this kind of MIS system. Being faced with these circumstances, the whole frame design on software system is put on high importance. In this article, I begin with the architecture of software in order to make software more expansible, easier to maintain and easier to be second used. By combining the groupware technology and distributed object technology, I put forward a method of developing MIS system whose structure is B/S based on RIM in the article, and apply it on the development of distributed MIS system based on Web.
