Study Of Multiplexing, IP Transport And SFN Synchronization In DVB Head-end

In this paper, how to realize multiplexing, linking Internet into DVB network and synchronizing SFN using a package processor in DVB head-end is studied. By studying DVB and MPEG-2 standards, MPEG-2 system structure and the way of working are mastered. Then a series of simulation is done by setting up models in Simulink software, which is helpful to know the function of control information in TS and testify the correctness of the study and which is also helpful to decide the design of realizing all those functions. It turned out that the arithmetic to eliminate the time stamp delay, the way of encapsulating IP into MPEG-2 TS packets and the way of synchronizing SFN were right and feasible. The significance of this study is that it connects MPEG-2 network with IP network and it has certain market value.
