Based on the analysis of assemble to order(ATO) manufacturing and its' production management, and the progresss on the national innovation fund project 'ZTERP' , this dissertation researched on the theory, methodology and implementation of the ATO production management system.In chapter one, the development of production management and management information system are reviewed, and the challenge of the global markets is analyzed. Based on the analysis of different types of enterprises, the advantages of ATO are summarized. Because the current software is not suitable for ATO enterprises, the development of such kind of software is important.Chapter two analyzes the product structure and BOM management for ATO enterprises, and set up the model for the product design.Chapter three analyzes the production management system of ATO enterprises, and set up the model of ATO production management. Based on this, after the analysis and description of the data requirement of production management system, a system frame of ATO production management system is presented. The function models (including production schedule, production process and workshop management) are designed. In order to improve the application of ATO in China, the application basis of enterprises are discussed.Because ATO production management system is different from the other enterprises, chapter four and chapter five discussed the implementation of the ATO production management system, including: master production scheduling, job shop scheduling and BOM management.Chapter six summarized the work of this dissertation, and some important future works are also sketched out.
