Under the incentive of the civil-market demanding such as laser material processing and the military-market demanding such as a new generation of laser weapon candidate and ICF, diode-pumped solid laser (DPSL) develops rapidly worldwide. As an important application, diode-pumped intracavity-frequency-doubled laser is attached much importance in recent years, but there still remain many problems unresolved completely. In this paper, I have given some abecedarian study results on some of these problems theoretically and experimentally. The major new work includes:1. The green problem in intracavity-frequency-doubled lasers with folded-resonator is studied based on the Jones matrix and coupling wave equation methods. The polarization effect of the folded mirror is discussed, through solving the coupling wave equation numerically, its influence on the stability is analyzed. It indicates that the folded mirror plays an important role in restraining the green noises.2. Based on the result in 1, through calculating the SFG parameter that induces the "green problem", some theoretical conditions of suppressing green noises are put forward. After considering the feasibility of these conditions, some experimental schemes are brought forward.3. The thermally stable condition of intracavity-frequency-doubled lasers withfolded resonator is analyzed based on the matrix optics. The influence of resonator parameters including the resonator length , curvature radii of mirrors and thermal focal lengths of the laser rod and doubled crystal on the system stability is analyzed with numerical examples.4. The intracavity photon density and initial population inversion density are assumed to be Gaussian distributions instead of plan wave assumption, based on this assumption, the rate equations of diode-pumped intracavity-frequency-doubled passively Q-switched laser are modified. Through solving these space-dependent rate equations numerically, the results under different assumption are compared.5. Some experiments are performed to support the theory in 2. Besides this, the experimental result of AO-Q switched is given, and then the experimental results of passive-Q switched under existing conditions are given and analyzed.6. Some technology schemes of disc laser to high power and high quality are summarized, and some typical experiment devices and results are analyzed.
