The virtual manufacturing is a direction of the 21 century manufacturing industry. The virtual manufacturing system is a mapping of a reality manufacturing system under a virtual reality environment. The virtual manufacturing technology is supported by the computer technology. It concludes designing, machining, assembling, modifying, a virtual environment formed through modeling constantly, the virtual process and the virtual product. It can be used to predict and analyze the question in a designing and manufacturing process, and a modifying management can be made. It can be optimized from the product's designing to manufacturing in order to reach the aim of decreasing product's lifecycle, decreasing the danger of exploitation, and improve economic profit. The research content of the virtual manufacturing technology is very expensive, such as the constituting technology of environment, the process character taken out., member former, integrated basis system, manufacturing character data integrated, excessive subject mutual function, decision-making tool, virtual reality technology, modeling , simulating technology and interface technology. The last three items are the center technology. The virtual manufacturing connotation and the key technology were expounded particularly. The virtual reality technology, modeling, simulating technology and interface technique were studied in the paper. The primary structure of the virtual manufacturing system was put forward on the basis of numerical control machining and simulation. The simulation and machining process were built up in the virtual manufacturing environment. Models of machining center and part were produced in the simulation environment. The HAAS numerical machining center was done. The machine tool's part models were built up such as lathebed, workbench etc, and all parts were assembled accurately according to the structure of the machine. The fundamental theory and the assembling process were discussed in the paper.
