Virtual machining technology is the key of fundamental technology of virtual manufacturing, and it is the important component of virtual manufacturing system. With the continuous improvement of computer technology as well as the rapid development of computer graphics, virtual manufacturing technology has become a kind of effective method of foreseeing machining Proeess Performanee, product quality and proeessing efficiency in the modern manufacturing industry.In this paper, the Virtual Manufacturing Simulation System of welding process is achieved by using OpenGL graphics technology on the platform of Visual C++6.0, according to the actual features and application requirements. After the analysis and comparison to some frequent geometric modeling, B-rep has been used to build welded joint which has different forms and groove types, as the geometric modeling of welding process simulation system. According to the characteristic of weld bead shape, this paper uses three-level Bezier curve to simulate weld cross-section, and gives a detailed analysis of the mathematical relaionships between the parameters of weld bead shape and the control points coordinates of Bezier curve. In addition, this article discuss the different impact of three welding parameters on weld bead shape, and realizes dynamic simulation of different welding process through the relevant calculation.Finally, the runing results of a simulation example shows that the system has good real-time effectivity, interaction and visualization of 3D graphics, and the abilities of effectively simulating the welding process.
