Research Of EAN-13 Image Identification Method

Firstly the paper introduces technology characteristic of EAN-13 and the basic components of the bar code image identification system. And then some problems are analyzed in the print of paper ark bar code. The paper contraposes some problems such as the widening line, the narrowing line, the unequal color, the parting line, redundant printing ink and various cases of noises in the bar code image input etc, on which the algorithms of the bar code digital image processing and the algorithms of the bar code image identification are put forward. Accordingly the method of correcting errors which bases on the bar code image identification is established. On the base of it, the software of the bar code identification is developed. At the same time the paper shows some examples of the software test. The practicability of the method is demonstrated.The specialty of the -- paper contraposing the bar code bitmap, thecharacteristic pixels are statistically analyzed. Therefore the means of obtaining the bar code information is more advanced and reliable, it is prone to advance the rate of the first identification. Compare with the light and electricity identification technology of a dimension bar code, their methods are not only different but the method of the image identification has obviously definite advantage.
