Based on Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) system of 8 electrodes as the main object, this paper discusses the measuring of the oil and water two-phase flow, its structure and principle for work, and the construction of finite element model, so as to make field plotting. Adopting triangle cell and quadrangle cell plotting patterns, mathematical model of sensitivity field is built to calculate sensitivity, and using these projective data and image reconstruction algorithm to obtain the distribution image of multiphase medium in the measured area.Experiments show that finite element model is right and has high precision. Through comparing the two different plotting patterns to field, the conclusion can be deduced, that simulation result would be fine if adopting unequal interval plotting patterns. Analyzing the rule of sensitivity field distribution in ECT system, it is found that diversification of sensitivity is not only relative to the medium in the field, but also relative to the position in the field. Analysis of sensitivity field is the fine basis for optimized design of sensors and image reconstruction, and the quality of image reconstruction is also improved.
