Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) technique is a kind of process tomography technique based on the sensitive principle of capacitance. It has been the most popular research direction and the main development technique of process tomography, and it has a wide application prospect in the field of industry, due to its many distinct advantages such as no radiation, no invasion, high speed of response, simple structure, low cost, wide application range, better safety and so on. More profound study is focused on the key problems such as sensitivity distribution of transducers, optimized design of transducers’structure parameter, image reconstruction algorithm, hardware implement of the algorithm based on FPGA and design of the digital system. The study we have completed is as follows.First, the electrical capacitance tomography is a process based on the mechanism of capacitance sensor imaging technology, 12-electrode capacitance sensor array, the background of ECT system, in-depth study electrical capacitance tomography system composed of the technical features and system. From the theoretical analysis of ECT system works, the finite element method for modeling and analysis system, sensitive field describes the calculation method, using ANSYS finite element analysis tool for large-scale establishment of capacitance sensor model, and with the distribution of sensitivity field between the electrodes, analysis of the capacitance sensor in the capacitance change under different parameters. In order to avoid oscillation near the particle and particle in the global into local optimum, the improved PSO and the improved chaotic mix of new algorithm search strategy. The size of the overall sensitivity of a sensitive field goal system performance, optimized capacitive sensor structure, get a set of optimal parameters of the sensor structure to improve the sensitivity and the sensitive field uniformity, so that the sensor performance is significantly improved. Secondly, the use of ANSYS programming language and C language to implement the proposed methods and algorithms, with the sensor modeling, automatic mesh, capacitors and automatically calculate the sensitivity distribution, structural optimization and a variety of image reconstruction and other functions.
