Research And Implementation Of A Common Security Platform Based On PKCS#11

With the rapid progress of information technology, it brings about serious problems in network information security. Cryptography is the fundamental to solve them, In spite of wide applications of cryptographic devices, the architectures and interfaces of them are quite different since they are developed by different providers. The lack of agreed-upon standards usually burdens application developers, and the interoperability between security services is by no means guaranteed. Therefore, it's quite important to research the common security platform that provides cryptographic interoperability.Based on the PKCS#11 standards, the common security platform-WPKCS11 we designed is independent of cryptographic devices and operating systems, and conceals the complexity of low-level information security technologies, thus provides a convenient middle platform for upper application developers. WPKCS 11 separates the information security module from the whole application system and enhances its reusability. Altogether, the platform solves such problems in security technologies as high cost, poor availability and weak interoperability.Through the analysis and research on the PKCS#11 standards, this thesis describes the design of the common security platform-WPKCS 11 and its implementation based on PKCS#11 in detail.
