It is an attractive problem for software engineer that how to allot limited resource to all kind of activities and how to make full use of resource for each activity in order to optimize software process multi-factors.Aiming at many problems above-mentioned, this article focuses on the research of the activities scheduling and resource assignment in the software process based on Genetic Algorithm. By applying the method of activities scheduling and resource assignment, the quality of the software is heightened. It is possible to manage software project with the help of computer in the future. In this article, the author expounds the particularity of the activities scheduling and resource assignment problem; sets up the mathematics model of the activities scheduling and resource assignment problem according to the model of Rational Unified Process; puts forward the method of activities scheduling and resource assignment based on Genetic Algorithm. At the same time, the recognition of parallel activities and series activities and coupling activities in the software process can be solved by graph theory knowledge; the evaluation of the staff's capacity can be solved by fuzzy synthetic evaluation theory. These techniques make foundation for putting forward detail Genetic Algorithm. In addition to theory research above-mentioned, a simulation result of the method for activities scheduling and resource assignment in software process is presented and conclusions are given: The method can not only expedite the software development based on right activities execution series but also optimize resource assignment and increase the utilization ratio of the resource.
